I am a late diagnosed adult with adhd. At age 42, my life changed, and I struggled with life, balance, and joy. I was no longer able to function like I did in my past. Growing up I was always a happy go lucky kid, ready for any adventure or new experiences I could jump in with.
In my 20’s I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder. In my 40’s, my anxiety was unmanageable. I struggled for 10 years and went from Doctor to Doctor to see why I felt this way. Life became daunting and my ability to keep up and enjoy my fast-paced career and life changed. I felt overwhelmed, exhausted and stressed. I went to different primary doctors, an ob-gyn, a bio identical doctor, numerous psychiatrists, numerous psychologists, and therapists. No one suggested I possibly could have ADHD. I started to have major digestive issues with my hormones being off balanced, I became intolerant to gluten. My cortisol levels were off the charts, I was in adrenal fatigue, and was due to Cushing’s disease. I was unknowingly experiencing Amygdala Hijack.
After a 10-year struggling to find the answers, I came across the information I needed on my own! Bells and whistles went off. I was ADHD! I dove in deep to learn everything about ADHD. I started working with an ADHD life coach weekly, and I sought a proper diagnosis. My inability to get the help I needed and the proper diagnosis, led me to make a career change and get certified in ADHD coaching. My goal now is to help others who may be struggling with a similar story. As a full-time coach, I'd like to make sure you do not go through similar struggles.
